This watch collection is a small tribute to old matchboxes, made by carefully cutting out designs from vintage matchbox covers and giving them a new life on the wrist. Each piece begins with selecting a matchbox with an interesting old design, from which a round cutout is taken and laminated for protection. Hour indices are then placed only where they suit the design without disturbing its character, after which a quartz movement is fitted beneath the dial and set into the watch case, with the crown positioned at 4 o'clock for easy handling. The idea behind this collection is simple, to preserve these old matchbox designs, which are slowly disappearing, and let people carry a bit of that everyday nostalgia with them in the form of a watch.
No. Each dial is cut from a real matchbox cover, so print registration, paper tone and wear differ from piece to piece. Two watches from the same run will not look exactly alike — that is the point.
Keep it dry. The dial is laminated paper behind mineral glass, not a water-resistant sports dial. Wipe the case with a soft dry cloth and store it away from direct sunlight.
The Miyota 2035 is a standard quartz movement. Any competent watchmaker can change the cell — typically every two to three years.
Dispatched within 2–3 working days. Free shipping across India. Returns accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided the watch is unworn and in its original packaging.
From everyday India. To your wrist.
We didn't find the aesthetic.
We grew up in it.
Matchboxes. We've all seen them. Used them. Some of us even collected them. Different names, different designs, different stories from across India — and all of them quietly disappearing. This is a small attempt to keep a few.
Something made to be used,
made into something kept.
- 01
Find the box
We go looking for covers worth keeping — a design, an era, a printer who stopped printing decades ago.
- 02
Cut and laminate
A 28 mm disc is cut from the original cover and laminated, so the paper survives being worn.
- 03
Place the indices
Hour markers go only where they suit the artwork. If a marker would sit on the tiger, the tiger wins.
- 04
Case it up
A Miyota quartz movement is fitted beneath the dial and set into a brushed steel case, crown at four.

Jalebis spiralling out of a kadhai. Trucks screaming Horn OK Please in chrome and colour. CDs stacked next to the TV. Matchboxes with tiny illustrations.
Bollywood posters. Sticker-covered scooters.
Everything was colourful. Everything had a little too much going on. And somehow, everything had personality. We didn't call it design. We didn't call it nostalgia. It was just life.
